Our stylists' favourite new arrivals

Our stylists' favourite new arrivals

March is a funny time. You can dress for the worst and hope for the best, or you can dress with optimism and have the British weather put you back in your place. It's a problem, but thankfully one that won't be around for much longer.

With that in mind, we've asked our in-house team of experts to cast their discerning eye over Thread's latest arrivals and share their favourites with us. Consider this your cheat sheet to nailing summer style.

Oliver Spencer linen trousers

I've seen these up-close and the fit is spot-on, as is the colour," says Thread stylist Alice Watt. "Relaxed and smart in equal measure, you'll live in these all summer long as the linen will allow you to breathe throughout the day. If only they did them in my size…”

Colorful Standard organic cotton hoodie

“From the perfect shade of pale pink to the fact it's 100% organic and a great price, there's nothing not to love about this hoodie," says Alice. "Nervous about the colour? It'll honestly work with everything. Try wearing it with grey, green, black or white."

Fred Perry canvas trainers

As we get closer to summer, hi-top canvas trainers are the way to go," says Thread stylist Alexander McCalla. "They go with practically any outfit, from casual to smart-casual. If you looking to take a break from the usual Converse, try these instead from Fred Perry."

Paul Smith denim shirt

“This half-zip shirt adds a bit of interest to your outfit," says Alexander. "It's great layered under a lightweight jacket and looks good on its own too. Don't be afraid to wear it with jeans, as long as they're a different shade."

YMC cotton tee

A striped t-shirt is a classic, but the combination of purple and off-white makes this top way more interesting and unique,” says Thread stylist Toby. "It's made from 100% cotton too, so it's ideal for summer when you need something that can breathe."

Wax London cotton shirt

“I'm very into the 70s Mick Jagger vibes of this shirt,” says Toby. "It's a really classic colourway, so it's easy to wear over a white tee and with some chinos or jeans. And because it's been garment washed, it's got that lovely soft texture too."

Wax London waxed mac

“To me, this is the perfect spring coat – lightweight, bold and beautifully fitted," says Thread's Head of Styling, Shaunie Brett. "And it comes in three colours. I've gone with the Merlot because it's a bit unexpected and it won't show up dirt or rain stains easily."

Albam chambray trousers

Photographed: Albam Chambray pleat trouser (£64)

“I love how artsy these trousers are," says Shaunie. "Going for a looser fit feels as good as it looks. Some guys might feel a bit unsure about the double pleats, but it's details like that which show you've put a bit more consideration into your outfit choice."
