Our stylists’ favourite new arrivals

It’s the sartorially confusing time that is summer. It’s hot outside, but the office air conditioning resembles the arctic. While your weekends are alternately spent relaxing in the park or needing to look smart enough to go to the pub/meet friends/head out for dinner. Worry not. Take inspiration from our stylists who have chosen their favourite items for right now.

Beams Plus multi-stripe pocket tee

“This bright Beams Plus striped tee is one of those things that will keep you cool (it’s 100% cotton, so breathable in the summer) and also looks cool. I’d wear it with neutral shorts or blue jeans to let the t-shirt stand out,” says stylist Izzy Harvey.

“These trousers are a hit with all of the stylists right now. Pleated and cut a little wider in the leg – nailing the current favoured shape – they’re a really flattering fit,” says stylist Millie Rich.

Photographed: Boden Poplin Cutaway Collar Shirt (£45)

“This is such a great, easy summer shirt. I love the cotton poplin, it’s lightweight but holds its shape more than linen, so you don’t need to worry about creases,” says stylist Alice Watt.

Adidas Handball Spezial

“First created in 1979 for handball players, they have been updated for a modern audience (and you don’t have to be a sports pro to wear them). I love the summery orange colour and the slightly slimmer silhouette of this update,” says stylist Luke McDonald.

Oliver Spencer drawstring short

“Is it summer if you don’t wear linen?” says stylist Brooke Philips. “I love the colour of these super relaxed Oliver Spencer cotton-linen shorts – not obviously summery but feels just right for now.”

Marks & Spencer textured blazer

“Now that a suit isn’t required for most office jobs, you can have a little fun with suiting again,” says stylist Freddie Kemp. “This checked linen blazer is smart enough to wear at a wedding but still feels fun and interesting.”

Polo Ralph Lauren chambray popover hoody

“A cotton chambray might not be the obvious choice of fabric for a hoody, but this one feels perfect for summer. I love the details on it, from the drawstring waist and buttons to the great pocket,” says stylist Alexander McCalla.

“Love them or hate them, this iconic German sandal brand is going nowhere,” says stylist Toby Standing. “This clog-inspired sandal is the sandal for guys who don't like showing their feet.”
