Specialising in tanning, dyeing and finishing high grade suedes and speciality leathers with interesting grains, Charles F. Stead & Co. is an acclaimed tannery based in Leeds and produce some of the worlds finest suedes and leathers. With a heritage spanning as long as G.H Bass it’s self, Charles F. Stead & Co. founded in Leeds in the 1890’s, pride themselves in working to traditional methods to produce a distinctive tight-fibred suede, these methods ensure a permanent fibre quality from the first to the last wear. Using Charles F. Stead & Co suede, these limited edition Weejuns Larson loafers maintain the shared passion of traditional methods and feature specially dyed and treated suede from the Charles F. Stead & Co. tannery. The soul is constructed from a strong leather and includes a rubber grip on the heel whilst like all GH Bass moccasin styles - hand stitched on the moccasin seem by a footwear craftsman using tradition methods.
The loafer is a classic British design which stems back to 1847. Today this low laceless style is better suited to milder times of the year, and can be paired with everything from tailored shorts to suits.
