Eight of our stylists’ favourite new arrivals for summer

Eight of our stylists’ favourite new arrivals for summer

Summer is the gift that keeps on giving. It ushers in endless blue sky days, a diary full of barbecues, and, of course, no shortage of stylish warm-weather clothes to wear to them. We asked our stylists to round up the styles they think should be front of your wardrobe during the notoriously fleeting season, so you can make the most of it while it’s here.

Percival printed camp collar shirt

“This shirt epitomises the best of summer style,” says stylist Millie Rich. “It comes in a camp collar silhouette and features a vintage-inspired print. It’s perfect for wearing open over a tee with shorts and sandals at your next barbecue.”

A.P.C. x Suicoke Sandal

Photographed: A.P.C. x Suicoke Sandal (£195)

“If you’re looking for a style-forward, comfortable, and versatile sandal, I’d recommend this pair from A.P.C. and Japanese brand Suicoke,” says Thread stylist Artemis Crowley. “They’re designed with technical features that make them great for the outdoors, but they’re equally stylish indoors, too.”

A.P.C. chore jacket

Photographed: A.P.C. Andre Technical Chore Jacket (£279)

“You can’t go wrong with a utility jacket in your wardrobe rotation – even in summer. It’s a great style to have on hand once the sun sets,” says stylist Brooke Philips. “Plus it’s one you can keep reaching for come autumn.”

Mr P. suit trousers

“This may not be the summer of special events or office style, but if you’re missing smarter styles, I’d recommend a pair of white suit trousers,” Artemis says. “They come in a cotton and linen blend, which makes them breathable in hot weather, and because they’re a looser fit, you can wear them comfortably at home.”

Stan Ray shorts

Photographed: Stan Ray Fat Short (£49)

“With a slightly baggy fit and oversized pockets that are great for storing your essentials on the go, these olive-coloured shorts are the perfect blend of style and function,” says stylist Freddie Kemp. “Pair yours with a simple white tee and slip-on sandals, and you’re ready for a walk in the park.”

Basic Rights chore jacket

Photographed: Basic Rights Blake Chore Jacket (£72)

“Chore jackets have been a practical layer for more than a century, but what I like about this one is the modern features – like the cropped fit and rockabilly-style front pocket flap,” Millie says. “And because it’s lightweight and unlined, it’s the perfect extra layer for cool summer nights.”

Parra rugby shirt

“Summer is a great time to embrace a bold rugby shirt,” Freddie says. “This one is designed with plenty of personality and an on-trend, oversized fit, which will help you stand out for all the right reasons.”

Gramicci twill shorts

Photographed: Gramicci Twill G-Short (£59)

“Outdoor shorts are great for summer – whether you’re planning a lot of weekend hikes or just need something to lounge around in,” Brooke says. “They’re designed with a gusseted crotch, which makes them comfortable indoors or out.”
