Product details

Brand: Fred Perry

Category: Shoes > Loafers

Colour: Black

Details:

We collaborate with G.H. Bass & Co. on an adaptation of their original Larson Penny Loafer. Constructed from piqué-textured leather with hand stitched seams, we add a tipped, ridged commando outsole and dual-branded leather in-sock with tartan trim. Established in 1876 by George Henry Bass, G.H. Bass & Co. started out with a simple motto: “To make the best possible shoe for the purpose for which it was intended.” In 1936, the brand put a stylish spin on a Norwegian farm shoe designed for ‘loafing in the field,’ and playfully dubbed them Weejuns – introducing the world’s very first penny loafer. Adopted by presidents and Hollywood legends alike, the G.H. Bass loafer has been a smart staple and key part of the subcultural uniform. We adapt the original design with heavy-duty subcultural styling and subtle Fred Perry details: chunky sole, tartan in-sock and piqué-textured finish. Upper: Leather / Sole: Rubber Do Not Wash

About the brand

Fred Perry

Not satisfied with merely winning trophies, British tennis legend Fred Perry was also keen to look the part. That's why in 1952 he designed the first Fred Perry shirt he would wear on and off the court. Since then, icons including Amy Winehouse and the Gallagher brothers have transformed the Fred Perry polo (and its laurel wreath logo) into a lasting signature of British subculture. Try that on for size.
